Ingredients:
Fresh ginger root (about 3 inches)
Fresh turmeric root (about 2 inches)
1 large grapefruit
Cranberry juice - 1 oz (as an alternative to non-alcoholic bitter aperitif)
Pomegranate juice - 1 oz (as an alternative to non-alcoholic sweet vermouth)
Ice cubes
Orange peel, for garnish

Instructions:
Prepare the Roots:
Wash the ginger and turmeric roots. (no need to peel)
Juicing:
Juice the ginger, turmeric roots and grapefruit (peeled). Aim for about 1/4 cup of ginger juice, 1/8 cup of turmeric juice, and 1 cup of grapfruit juice.
Mix the Drink:
In a mixing glass, combine the ginger and turmeric juices with the grapefruit juice.
Add 1 oz of cranberry juice for a tart, bitter edge.
Add 3 oz of pomegranate juice to introduce a sweet, vermouth-like quality.
Stir well to combine.
Serve:
Fill a glass with ice cubes.
Strain the drink mixture over the ice.
Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
